Preparing for Deployment?
Setting your expectations is key for a success deployment. What are you hearing from your peers? What has your chain of command shared with you? What have you imagined that could help or hinder your progress? Listening to the wisdom of others is certainly valuable information; however, only you will set the pace for your time away from home port. I received valuable advice along the way. Two of the greatest pieces of advice that I received from leadership were 1) mentally prepare each day for a marathon rather than a sprint; and 2) project calmness when you’re leading others. You have an incredible opportunity before you. Prepare today for the many potential victories that lie ahead of you, whether vocational, educational, or relational.
